Stanislav Morozov was convicted of petty hooliganism in the city of Penza after posting a video showing him filling out his ballot in the middle of a street. He crossed out the United Russia candidate and marked the other candidates on the first ballot before writing the insult on the second.

Morozov’s mother confirmed his detention, saying she did not know why he had been jailed.

The video blogger has also reported on the detention of men in Penza and alleged pressure to sign military service contracts. The FSB previously opened a criminal case against him for allegedly “inciting extremist activity” after he discussed alleged beatings by military enlistment officials. He was detained in July and later released with a travel ban.
