And finally… sex on the beach

Elissa Alvarez, 20 and Jose Caballero, 40, were each convicted on two counts of “lewd and lascivious behaviour” reports the Miami Herald.

The jury deliberated for a mere 15 minutes before finding the pair guilty in a trial that lasted a day and a half.

In a video taken at Bradenton Beach last July, Ms Alvarez can be seen gyrating atop Mr Caballero.

This was used as evidence in court with witnesses testifying that a child saw the pair.

However, defence lawyers said the pair were not actually having sex but that Ms Alvarez was dancing on top of Mr Caballero in order to wake him up.

Both of them face up to 15 years imprisonment, with prosecutors saying they will seek the maximum sentence for Mr Caballero given as he has a previous drug conviction and a lighter one for Ms Alvarez because this is her first offence.
