Rorn Sorn, 34, was sentenced to six years and five months in prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon after police responding to the disturbance in Tampa, Florida found the gun and drugs on his person.

The wayward bullet had gone through the bathroom mirror and into the adjacent women’s bathroom, but nobody was injured.

Mr Sorn, a gang member with previous convictions, sought to reassure security guards afterwards that he was “just trying to take a selfie”.
