And finally… Oh Lord and a room with a vow

A Florida church has lost its tax-exempt status after it was found to be hosting nude paint events and pyjama-clad slumber parties with the “sexiest ladies”.

Local council property appraiser Dan Sowell said Panama City Beach’s Life Center: A Spiritual Community has lost its tax-exempt status after authorities discovered it has been hosting late night spring break club nights as “Amnesia: The Tabernacle” since Feb. 28.

The events hosted at the facility included an “anything but clothes” body painting party and a slumber party billed as “a pyjama and lingerie party hosted by the sexiest ladies on the beach.”

Sheriff Frank McKeithen told the Panama City News-Herald treating the facility as a church is a “blatant slap in the face” to taxpayers and authorities.

“They’re trying to get around the laws, and they’re using the church to get there,” McKeithen said.

Sowell agreed with the sheriff’s assessment. “A bottle club, charging $20 at the door and selling obscene T-shirts is not being used as a church,” Sowell said. “A God-fearing, God-honoring church in January does not sponsor this type of debauchery in March.”

A 40-year-old widow in Indonesia is offering her hand in marriage to the man who agrees to purchase her home without negotiating the price.

Wina Lin, 40, a widowed mother who owns a beauty salon, said she was planning to sell her home in Sleman due to recent financial troubles and a friend who works as a real estate agent suggested she post an ad seeking a buyer and a husband in one.

“The bid of the century!” the advertisement reads. “Buy a house and marry the owner . For serious prospective buyers only. No negotiations.”

Wina said a potential husband would have to agree to the full $76,846 asking price for the house. She said she will only accept suitors who are devout Muslims.

Dian Purna Dirgantara, the real estate agent, told Time there have been numerous calls about the advert.

“Since yesterday morning there are continuous calls, I don’t count how many, there must be dozens or even hundreds,” the agent said.
