And finally… not exactly Bonnie and Clyde & homeward bound

A man and woman who stole $6,000 worth of jewellery from a gallery in Florida were caught after they signed the guestbook and left a telephone number.

Police in Palm Beach said Megan Ohara, 24, and David Ziskowski, 19 stole a ring and bracelet from the ICFA Gallery but were apprehended shortly after at a shop with the jewellery hidden in Ms Ohara’s purse.

Bizarrely, the woman had left her phone number in the guestbook, along with fake email addresses and obscene drawings.

The pair were arrested and charged with grand theft.

A 26-year old man from County Tyrone in Northern Ireland drove home from court just after receiving a driving ban.

Martin Czernicki re-appeared in Enniskillen Magistrates Court this week after he was spotted driving within hours of being disqualified until 2017.

Defence solicitor Michael Fahy admitted that the “ink on the order sheet was hardly dry” when he went back on the road.

District Judge Bernie Kelly said it was “probably the most blatant disregard for a court order I have come across in a long time”.

She added: “It is hard to put in to actual words your actions after the sentence was imposed. You walked straight out of court into the actual vehicle.”

He has been jailed for three months and banned from driving for a year.
