This is not the first time that Cirilo Castillo, 45, has been found doing this. He was discovered in a barn in Edinburg, Texas earlier this year.

The owner of the barn found Mr Castillo while she was feeding the animals in the early morning. She had previously warned him to stay away following prior arrests for the same act.

He claimed he was hit by a car and came to the barn for shelter but police believe he was kicked by a horse who rebuffed his advances.

He has already served two sentences for past sexual incidents involving horses.

The Crimean chief prosecutor who became an Internet sensation during the peninsula’s incorporation into Russia has been promoted by Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Natalia Poklonskaya, who unexpectedly developed a global fanbase when she appeared on television in firm support of Russia’s intervention, is now a major general equivalent.

Her rank has been raised from chief justice councillor to 3rd class state justice councillor, equal to a promotion from colonel to major general in the Russian military or police.

Russia Today explains her popularity: “At a media conference she spoke up for rebellious local authorities, denounced the armed coup in Kiev and declared Crimea’s refusal to submit to the new Ukrainian authorities.

“Her harsh words and stern expression contrasted greatly with her cute blond appearance and unusual voice, sparking an instant internet meme.”

Ms Poklonskaya has since become the subject of fanart and image macros, and nearly 7,000 people are subscribed to an English language reddit community created in her honour.

In an interview with RT last year, Mrs Poklonskaya said: “About my appearance, I can only repeat: let it blunt my opponents’ vigilance.”
