In retaliation for his wife eloping with her lover, the mononymous Neeraj, from the Indian state of Bihar, got his own back by marrying the wife of the man with whom she had had a long-running affair.

Ruby Devi and Neeraj had been married since 2009 and had four children. Neeraj discovered, however, that his wife was having an affair a few years after their wedding with a man called Mukesh.

After a failed attempt at resolving the issue by means of a village council, Neeraj married Mukesh’s wife – who is also named Ruby.
