And finally… load of bull
Bulls’ sperm valued at nearly £50,000 has been stolen from a US farm.
Vials and canisters of semen were taken during a burglary at a farm in southern Minnesota.
The victim, Daniel Weness, thinks the theft occurred over the Easter weekend when the barn holding the containers was not locked.
Chief deputy Mark May said there is a market in bull semen because it saves farmers money on transporting bulls and cows to breed.
He said: “A lot of people purchase bid on it or purchase it instead of transporting their animals to and from a site.
“They can just purchase a vial of bull semen and inseminate their cow and I guess it’s just more reliable that way.”
Particular bulls’ semen is more valuable than others because certain genetic traits are highly sought after.
