And finally... kids go free

The mayor of a small Italian island is offering free goats to anyone who can remove them from the island.

Alicudi, a tiny island off the coast of Sicily, is said to be overrun by wild goats — with around 600 goats to 100 human residents, CNN reports.

Mayor Riccardo Gullo has now announced that anyone who is able to come to the island and transport them can have up to 50 goats for free.

There is a formal application process which involves a €16 fee, and there is a nominal deadline of 10 April, which will be extended if excess goats remain.

Mr Gullo said: “We have heard from dozens of people since we first announced this.”

He added: “Ideally, we would like to see people try to domesticate the animals rather than eat them.”
