And finally… in the soup
Soup company Campbell’s has canned a senior staff member who allegedly described their products as “s**t for f***ing poor people”.
The company is facing a lawsuit in the US from a former employee who says he was sacked for reporting the foul-mouthed tirade.
Robert Garza, a former cyber analyst, said he covertly recorded the company’s vice-president and chief information security officer, Martin Bally, during a performance review in November, The Times reports.
The recording allegedly captures Mr Bally denigrating the “highly processed” food as “not healthy” and full of “chicken that came from a 3D printer”, as well as making racist remarks about Indians.
Mr Garza alleges that he was dismissed three weeks after making a complaint and is now suing Campbell’s.
In a statement, the company said it was unaware of the existence of an audio recording until the lawsuit was filed.
“After a review, we believe the voice on the recording is in fact Martin Bally,” a spokesperson said.
“The comments were vulgar, offensive and false, and we apologise for the hurt they have caused.
“This behaviour does not reflect our values and the culture of our company, and we will not tolerate that kind of language under any circumstances.
“As of November 25, Mr Bally is no longer employed by the company.”
