The unnamed woman from Greece was apparently taking part in an online trend of asking the AI-powered chatbot to act as a fortune teller, her baffled husband told TV talk show To Proino.

The chatbot analysed both of their coffee cups and said his revealed that he was pining for a woman whose name began with the letter “E”, and hers revealed that her husband was already cheating on her.

According to the husband, his wife subsequently told him to leave the home they shared with their children and initiated divorce proceedings within days.

Her interest in ChatGPT followed a previous year-long obsession with claims from an astrologer, he added.

Real-life fortune tellers have protested the story – claiming their skills are legitimate but not properly replicated by AI, Greek City Times reports.
