A French teenager has been charged with public nuisance and mischief in Singapore after allegedly filming himself licking a straw before putting it back in a vending machine and posting the footage online.
The 18-year-old, who is understood to be studying in Singapore, could be jailed for more than two years on a charge of committing mischief as well as one of public nuisance.
Machine operator iJooz was forced to replace all 500 straws that were in the dispenser.
According to The Straits Times, the video “quickly went viral, sparking shock and concern among netizens.”
