And finally… eggspert thief
A man in China has been caught with over 1,000 stolen eggs in his fridge.
Mr Gu, 47, said he took the eggs from the factory where he worked for his own personal consumption.
He had even written the expiry dates on each egg to ensure he ate them in the right order.
However, he was spotted by police smuggling two suitcases of stolen items out of his workplace in Pinghu City.
When they searched his house the authorities found over 1,000 eggs stowed in the fridge in addition to stolen meat and boxes of tissues as well as other things.
Mr Gu said: “I lost count how many times I have stolen. Probably hundreds of times. I have stolen everything in my house.”
A spokesman for the factory said: “We are as surprised as everyone else that it was the security guard.”
Mr Gu said he was able to pilfer the eggs and other goods because his trusted position at the factory meant he would never be suspected.
He added that he liked eggs.
A co-worker said: “I can’t believe it. For months the bosses have been accusing us of taking the stuff and it turns out it was the security guard.
“I hope they will now apologise for thinking it was us.”
The spokesman added: “We thought he was a hard working and dutiful guard who enjoyed working nightshifts because he didn’t have a family to go home to.
“Now we found he did it so he could roam around and take pinch without anyone seeing him.”
The egg-lover could be jailed for three years.
