A man in Miami was arrested after authorities said he held someone at gunpoint and stole jewellery from them before returning to complain the item was fake.
Daniel Sion Palmer, 26, stole a gold chain from a man before sprinting away.
But police say he returned to the victim about a block away from the incident in order to tell him the jewellery was fake.
Detective Ernesto Rodriguez said: “That was a brazen move and because of that he was able to be apprehended.”
The victim flagged officers down and pointed Mr Palmer out who sped away ignoring police sirens.
He was charged with various offences including armed robbery and fleeing and eluding.
