And finally… cheating boyfriend straightened out

In a bizarre case described as the “most unusual” ever seen by the judge, Bronwyn Joy Parker pleaded guilty to recklessly causing serious harm after leaving her partner with third-degree burns.

The couple had made an earlier agreement that if he ever cheated, Ms Parker could burn his testicles with the straighteners.

However, her victim was instead left with a shaft that was “swollen, blistering … and black in colour”.

Ms Parker told an Australian district court that she thought it would just feel like sunburn.

She added: “To start off with, it looked brown around the outside and it didn’t look too bad, it just looked as if you had cooked a piece of meat.”

Ms Parker received a nine month jail sentence suspended upon her entering an 18-month “good behaviour” bond.
