And finally… cat and mouse and shoe’s on the same foot

Hello Kitty and Minnie Mouse came to blows in New York’s Times Square following a dispute over tips.

The New York Daily News reports that people dressed as the characters began fighting before being led away by police.

Giovanna Melendez and Sandra Mocha were subsequently charged with assault.

Apparently fighting between mascots is not uncommon in Times Square.

Other incidents include a Spider-Man punching a police officer as well as two Iron Men, another Spider-Man and an Elmo being arrested for aggressive panhandling.

A man jailed for 15 years after robbing a shoe store in the United States has been sent back to prison after robbing the same store again a day after his release.

Christopher Miller, 41, was recognised while committing the crime by the very same clerk who manned the counter during his first attack fifteen years previous.

Mr Miller entered the Stride Rite store in Toms River, New Jersey on a late Saturday afternoon and aped his earlier robbery by ordering the 17-year-old boy and 43-year-old woman working in the store to go into the back room.

However, the workers refused to follow his orders - so M Miller took their mobile phones and made off with $389 USD from the cash register.

He was unarmed and police eventually arrested him a few blocks away.

Mr Miller pleaded guilty to the robbery charges earlier this year and was sentenced on Friday to a further 16 years in prison.
