And finally… carry on camping

Independence campaigners have told a judge in the Court of Session they asked 144 solicitors to take their case one – but were unanimously rejected.

The group, which has set up a camp on the grounds of the Scottish Parliament was in court to give an update on whether it had found representation to fight eviction.

Holyrood took legal action against the IndyCamp group after its members refused to leave.

Lord Turnbull previously blasted the group, which began its occupation last November, for wasting time and gave it time to find a lawyer.

At court today, BBC Scotland political journalist, Philip Sim live-tweeted proceedings:

“To recap, so far we’ve heard that Jesus has returned to Earth, had the Queen cited as a witness & the judge accused of blasphemy. #IndyCamp.”

“Mr Moynihan says this case would not have the power to force witnesses to appear; suggests The Queen may not volunteer to appear. #IndyCamp.”
