Kurt Kromm, 60, was dismissed from Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant after a self-checkout kiosk appeared to show he had not paid for the snack during a night shift in May.

But he had.

Ford later reinstated him, paid about $33,000 in back wages and offered him his job back after bank records confirmed the payment had gone through.

However, Kromm declined to return and has instructed lawyer J. Will Huber.

Huber said: “The accusations of theft made against him were absolutely false. The proof of his innocence was available to or in the possession of both Aramark and Ford from the very start.”

Ford said it does not comment on pending litigation but is reviewing reports of problems with Aramark kiosks.
