“Diella” – meaning “Sun” in Albanian – has been put in charge of public procurement, The Guardian reports.

Albania’s prime minister, Edi Rama, introduced Diella as “the first cabinet member who is not physically present, but has been virtually created by AI”.

The appointment will help make Albania “a country where public tenders are 100 per cent free of corruption”, he claimed.

All government contracts will now be reviewed and approved by Diella.
