And finally… a moron by any other name

A woman in London was forced to change her name to “Jemmaroid Von Laalaa” by deed poll to regain access to her Facebook account.

She made the account with the silly name seven years ago in order to avoid unwanted friend requests.

But last month she was asked by the company to prove this was her real name.

She photoshopped a bank card with her pseudonym – the next day she was locked out from her account.

As Facebook would not allow her access to her account again she had her name changed to Jemmaroid Von Laalaa.

Even after this the account remained locked.

Ms Von Laalaa said: “I know I’ve been a complete moron, but Facebook are being ridiculous.

“I’ve been locked out of my account for five weeks now and have lost all of my photos, messages and precious memories.”

She added: “What if an abuse victim wants to have Facebook but doesn’t want people to find her? Facebook has too much power – it’s scary.”

Facebook told Metro that Ms Von Laalaa’s account has now been reactivated.

A spokesperson said: “Facebook asks people to use their authentic names, as we believe this makes people more accountable for what they say.

“In this instance we made a mistake. We apologise for any inconvenience that this caused.”
