And finally... don't kiss and tell

A social media influencer who publicly documented her affair with a married man has been ordered to pay more than £1.3 million in damages to his ex-wife.

Brenay Kennard, who has more than three million followers on TikTok, was sued in North Carolina under the US state’s “alienation of affection” laws.

The jury in Durham County awarded $1.5 million for alienation of affection and a further $250,000 for “criminal conversation”.

The total award of $1.75 million is the third largest in a case of its kind in the state’s history, according to ABC11.

Robonetta Jones, attorney for the ex-wife, told the court that Kennard had “flaunted her relationship with a married man” and her client “was humiliated as a result of that”.

Speaking after the jury decision, Ms Jones said: “I believe the message is that there are consequences for interfering with another person’s marriage.

“People have to know that if you interfere and you sleep with someone who’s married, there are consequences in the state of North Carolina and maybe they will think twice before they do it.”
