Olesya Shemyakova, 37, was paying by card when she accidentally typed her PIN where she was supposed to type the cost of the order.

Ms Shemyakova, who lives in France but was visiting a restaurant in Switzerland, did not realise her mistake until her credit card bill arrived weeks later.

Her credit card company and the police said there was nothing they could do as no fraud or crime had been committed, Swiss paper Blick reports.

However, the restaurant owner has made assurances that they will try to return the money.
