All welcome to SLAS discussion on Roberton Review

The Scottish Law Agents Society (SLAS) has issued an invitation to all law firms, local faculties and societies to consider whether the Scottish government has indicated an intention to transfer the regulation of legal services from the judicial to the executive branch of state authority and, if so, to consider whether such a change is consistent with the rule of law and the separation of powers and the independence of the legal profession and of the judiciary.

These matters will be addressed at the annual general meeting of SLAS at the Royal Faculty in Glasgow on 20 June 2019 from 5:30 PM when the profession will be asked also whether it now requires to establish its own, independent, non-statutory, representative body. All welcome.
