Aberdein Considine has appointed Nicola Watson as partner in its family law team.

Joining from Livingstone Brown, where she was a senior associate, and with 10-plus years’ experience in family law, she will be based in Aberdein Considine’s Glasgow offices.

Her appointment sees Aberdein Considine further boost its expert family law offering in the central belt – she will work closely with Edinburgh-based fellow partner Leonie Burke and associate Emma Roman to support clients from across the southern half of Scotland, including in person at the firm’s Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Stirling offices.

A Law Society of Scotland-accredited family mediator, Ms Watson became a solicitor in January 2016, after starting her career at Livingstone Brown in 2014 as a trainee solicitor.

During her career to date, she has gained experience across the family law sector, handling issues relating to children, relocation, divorce, and separation agreements. She frequently gives advice on financial matters related to divorce and is skilled in preparing pre-nuptial and pre-cohabitation agreements.

Ms Watson also has experience working on international child abduction cases under the Hague Convention, representing both petitioners and respondents.

Ruth Aberdein, partner and head of family law at Aberdein Considine, said: “I am delighted that Nicola is joining our team of dedicated and experienced family lawyers.

“At Aberdein Considine, we strive to provide our family law clients across Scotland with the best possible standards of service and expert, comprehensive family law advice tailored to their specific needs.

“Nicola brings a wealth of experience and her skill set will complement and enhance our existing highly respected, accessible and supportive family law offering.”
