Aberdein Considine has recruited Alasdair Fraser as an associate in the firm’s private client team in Glasgow.

Mr Fraser brings experience across the full spectrum of private client work, including wills, powers of attorney, estate administration and tax and succession planning.

Having qualified as a solicitor in 2021, he began his career at a high-street firm in his hometown of Ayr before moving to larger, city-based firms.

He joined McClures Solicitors, which was subsequently acquired by Jones Whyte, then Gilson Gray and later Mitchells Roberton, granting him a broad and well-rounded expertise in complex private client matters.

Mr Fraser gained his bachelor of laws degree and diploma from Strathclyde University, where he now supports the development of the next generation of solicitors as a private client tutor on the university’s diploma programme.

He was also awarded a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma, a globally recognised qualification for professionals working in the field of trusts and estates, in 2024.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Fraser said: “I was attracted to Aberdein Considine as a firm as it has an excellent reputation, and I am honoured to be joining a team of such highly competent and experienced professionals.

“I pride myself on being a reassuring presence for clients, assisting them in what can be a challenging time of their lives, and that will be no different as I step into this new role.”

Outside of the law, Mr Fraser is an avid hiker and runner, having completed several marathons and ultramarathons, including the London Marathon in 2019 and the Tiree Ultramarathon in 2024.

“I recently crossed the ‘halfway point’ of bagging Munros, completing 150 with only 132 to go,” he said.

“A highlight was scaling a round of the Fisherfields, which involved five Munros and a Corbett, taking around 15 hours in total.

“Through this, I know a thing or two about going the extra mile, and I’m very much looking forward to applying this mindset to my client work at Aberdein Considine.”

Aileen Entwistle, partner and the firm’s head of private client for Glasgow, said: “Having Alasdair join our team will strengthen our private client offering, not just in our Glasgow office but across the firm.

“His experience will bring valuable insight and depth to our team, enhancing our ability to deliver exceptional service to clients throughout Scotland.”

Ms Entwistle was recently named Solicitor of the Year at The Herald Law Awards of Scotland 2025, where Aberdein Considine also retained its Debt Recovery Team of the Year title.
