Students at Aberdeen University’s School of Law have launched the seventh volume of their law review.

Students and staff launched Volume 7 of the Aberdeen Student Law Review (ASLR) in the Craig Suite of the Sir Duncan Rice Library last week.

The event commenced with introductory remarks from the head of school, Anne-Michelle Slater, followed by some brief words of thanks and acknowledgment from this year’s editors-in-chief, Augustinus Mohn and Euan West.

Graduate Mitchell Skilling and first year PhD student Stephanie Dropuljic both gave presentations on their articles.

Mr Skilling’s paper, entitled “The Fifth Element”, examined the role that exclusive possession should play in the Scots law of leases while Ms Dropuljic’s paper, “The Classification of Murder and Slaughter”, examined the law of homicide in seventeenth century Scotland.

Mr Skilling was also awarded the Stronachs Prize for “Best Article” by Laura Bisset, from Stronachs and a cheque for £200.

Volume 7 of the ASLR can be accessed on the University of Aberdeen website.
