Aberdeen Law Project obtains settlement in consumer services dispute

Daniella Thomson

The Aberdeen Law Project (ALP) has successfully obtained a four-figure settlement for a client in connection with a consumer services dispute.

Prior to ALP’s engagement in the matter, the client had contracted with a company to have some roofing and rendering services carried out to their property. However, even after she exercised her right to repeat performance, the works carried out continued to be to an unsatisfactory standard. Consequently, the client’s property was left in an inadequate condition for over a year due to the defective work.

Daniella Thomson, together with the ALP team, then drafted a letter before action that prompted settlement discussions with the company. Consequently, ALP successfully obtained a settlement amounting to a full refund of the works carried out by the company to the client’s property.

The client said: “I can’t thank Daniella enough for all the hard work that went into my case that resulted in me receiving a full refund. I would never have got this fantastic result on my own, it was all down to Daniella and the team who supported her.”

Ms Thomson said: “It has been an honour to be involved in this case, and I am pleased that ALP has achieved a successful outcome for our client. I am highly appreciative and would like to extend my gratitude to the ALP team for their support throughout this process.”
