Staff in the Edinburgh office of Shoosmiths have gotten behind the lens in aid of a Scottish charity this Christmas.

Twenty-five employees were among several hundred colleagues from the firm’s 11 UK-wide offices to capture eye-catching photographs. Internal voting by staff in each location determined the favourite submission, with one image from each office incorporated into a special 2019 Shoosmiths desk-top calendar.

Peter Duff, Chairman of Shoosmiths and Claire Rowe (CEO) voted for the twelfth image. It is the first time that the business has produced a charity calendar that incorporates images taken by staff.

In Scotland, proceeds raised by employee purchases of the special £5 calendar will be donated to the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH).

Employees were encouraged to enter a striking image conveying one of three themes: ‘Fun times’, ‘four-legged friends’ and ‘feast your eyes’.

In Edinburgh, Anisa Doubell, who joined in April as a CSA, submitted under the theme ‘fun times’ what transpired to be her office’s winning photograph of Edinburgh city centre during the festive season.

Janette Speed, partner and head of Shoosmiths office in Edinburgh, commented: “Many staff from across Shoosmiths 11 UK-wide offices enthusiastically participated in our desk-top calendar initiative that in Scotland will benefit our nominated charity; the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH).

“Many congratulations to all the winners, including Anisa Doubell whose eye-catching image of Edinburgh during the festive season certainly caught the eye. I hope our attractive desk-top calendar will prove to be a hit with colleagues as a small festive gift!”
