Scots lawyer to appear on new BBC show Interior Design Masters

A Scots lawyer is to appear on a new BBC series in which designers will compete for a commercial contract for a London hotel, The Courier reports.

Terian Tilston, a solicitor at the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and owner of Terian Tilston Interior Design, will be one of 10 people competing for the title on the BBC’s Interior Design Masters.

Ms Tilston said she had “no idea” what to expect from the series.

She said: “I applied on a whim and I didn’t even think my application would be read, let alone considered.

“I mean, who am I to be selected for a huge TV show, right?”

The eight-part series will be presented by Fearne Cotton and feature Michelle Ogundehin, former editor of Elle Decoration, and guests including Mary Portas, Jade Jagger and Naomi Cleaver.

Ms Tilston, a graduate of Dundee University, said she was shocked she had been selected for the final group.

She said she takes inspiration for her work from her mother and grandmother as well as designer Sophie Robinson, who is to appear as a guest judge.

The first episode of Interior Design Masters is on Wednesday, August 14 at 8pm on BBC2.
