Morton Fraser has appointed Martin Minton as a senior solicitor in its agricultural and rural team.

He joins from Inksters, where he started his career almost 10 years ago as a student researcher and subsequently a trainee solicitor.

Mr Minton grew up on a croft in Wester Ross, and now specialises in crofting law, providing legal advice and support with purchasing, selling and registering crofts, as well as with access issues, boundary disputes and crofting succession.

Michael Ramsay, partner and divisional head of real estate at Morton Fraser, said: “We are delighted to welcome Martin to our agricultural and rural team, which provides specialist advice in all sectors of the agricultural and rural environment to both private and public sector clients.

“Martin joins a cohort of experienced lawyers in the field and we look forward to continuing to grow this expert team.”

Mr Minton added: “I am thrilled to join the team at Morton Fraser. They are always a pleasure to meet at the other end of a case, and the firm has a strong reputation for being a great place to work. I’m looking forward to focusing even more on providing crofting legal advice to a variety of clients.”
