Glasgow law student to compete in University Challenge

Law student Lewis Barn will be part of the Glasgow University team on this year’s University Challenge.

A quiz contestant regular, Lewis has appeared on the BBC’s Only Connect, hosted by Victoria Coren Mitchell and is the youngest member of Scotland’s National Quiz Team, having competed in the World Quizzing Championships in 2016 and 2017.

The egghead has also used his debating skills at university, reaching the Glasgow finals of the prestigious Brown-Mosten International Client Consultation Competition.

Currently studying for the Diploma, Lewis graduated with a 2:1 LLB (Hons) in 2017 and seeks a traineeship commencing this year. He has particular interests in family and employment law as well as civil litigation more generally and to that end is taking an advanced elective in the subject.

In addition to his studies and debating, Lewis works part time as a formal hire advisor at Slaters’ Glasgow headquarters. His role requires a smart appearance and professional approach at all times and he is routinely selected by management to attend to the needs of more challenging clients!

To see Lewis’ quizzing skills in action, tune into the news series of University Challenge, due to begin in July this year.
