Westwater Advocates is sponsoring five places for law students at the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association (Scotland) Conference in Edinburgh on 5 October, which is being organised by stable member Sir Crispin Agnew QC.

The conference majors on access to environmental justice, an important topic as the Aarhus Compliance Committee has recently held that Scotland has not yet fulfilled its obligations under the convention to support access to environmental justice.

Speakers include Sir Crispin speaking on environmental courts, Dr Eurig Scandrett, of Queen Margaret University on communities and environmental justice as well as talks on fracking regulation, environmental crime and sustainable housing.

Calum MacNeill QC stable director of Westwater Advocates said: “This is a great opportunity for the stable, which has a strong environmental law team, to support law students who are interested in specialising in this challenging area of law. We are delighted to encourage these young law students by our sponsorship.”
