Event: SEMLA and Ashurst – How innovation and legal tech is changing the legal services market

Event: SEMLA and Ashurst – How innovation and legal tech is changing the legal services market

It’s no secret that the legal services market is undergoing fundamental change. The key drivers of that change are liberalisation, technology and client expectations. De-regulation means that new entrants are joining the legal services market, technology advances are driving greater efficiency and clients are expecting their law firms to deliver more value for money. The traditional legal services delivery model and legal roles as we know them, are being redefined.

Ashurst is delighted to invite SEMLA’s members to an education and networking event at Ashurst Glasgow. Mike Polson, Glasgow Managing Partner and Co-Head of Innovation for the firm, will share his thoughts on the changing law model and how developments in legal teach are having a significant impact on the way we provide legal services. The evening will provide an opportunity to meet members of the Ashurst Advance team who are pursuing alternative careers in law, as well as seeing demos of legal tech in action.

Mike is Co-Head of Innovation at Ashurst and Head of Ashurst Advance, the firm’s integrated team focused on the three fundamental areas of innovation in legal service: resources, process and technology. In addition, Mike is Managing Partner of Ashurst’s legal sourcing and business services office in Glasgow.
