DWF’s Scottish corporate team has advised private equity investors Aliter Capital and Boston Networks on the acquisition of technology solutions business Pinacl Solutions and Pinacl GDA to create a new UK-wide network infrastructure and integrated technologies business.

This is the tenth deal on which DWF has acted for Aliter since the beginning of 2017. The private equity fund has brought together both businesses to create a UK-wide organisation with a staff of over 300 and a turnover approaching £50 million.

Boston Networks recently launched the £6m IoT Scotland, an ‘Internet of Things’ network. Pinacl has a specialisation in design and ICT infrastructures encompassing the IoT, smart buildings and cities and major fibre optic infrastructures.

Gemma Gallagher, senior associate, and Paul Pignatelli, executive partner of DWF’s Glasgow office, advised the acquisition team on the transaction, supported by tax partner Caroline Colliston, director Alan Glen, associates Jennifer Wright and Scott McGeachy, solicitors Siobhan Cameron, Mikela Rochford, Freya Gibb, Oliver Lovett and Alexandra Bradley, and trainee solicitor Sarah Curran.

Mr Pignatelli said: “We’ve seen Aliter go from strength to strength since they launched two years ago. Aliter has been extremely focused on creating a national provider that has major credibility across the networking and systems integration market.

“This deal is an example of Aliter’s capabilities within the market and we look forward to advising them on future transactions.”
