Drummond Miller welcomes new senior associates

Drummond Miller has welcomed three new senior associates to its Dunfermline office at 5 East Port.

Fergus Johnston, Kate Howitt and Mirella Marchini join the firm bringing a wealth of experience and expertise.Mr Johnston joins from Stevenson & Marshall and heads up the Dunfermline office. Along with significant civil litigation experience, he has appeared in sheriff courts and tribunals throughout Scotland. His practice has a particular emphasis on family law matters though he also has a wealth of experience in advising individuals and businesses in relation to commercial and employment matters. He is a part-time tutor of family law at the University of Edinburgh and he is a member of the Family Law Association.Ms Howitt joins the firm from Basten Sneddon. She has particular expertise in advising and representing clients in family law related matters and is able to use her significant experience to help resolve clients’ family law disputes out of court where at all possible.

A solicitor and notary public, Ms Marchini joins the firm from MHD Law in Edinburgh, becoming part of the private client department at Drummond Miller. She is dual qualified to practise in Scotland and Italy, being registered with “Ordine degli Avvocati” in Milan.

She advises on all succession matters following death in connection with Italian and Scottish estates, including wills, trusts and executries work. She also deals with powers of attorney both in Scotland and Italy and Italian conveyancing work.
