And finally… slumbering silk
An Australian QC has apologised after falling asleep and snoring in the middle of an inquest looking at the death of professional race car driver Sean Edwards.
Brisbane barrister David Tait, representing Mr Edward’s family, apologised after he had to be woken up by his colleague on the second day of the inquest this week.
Queensland’s The Courier-Mail ran the headline “Snore and order” with his photo splashed across the front page.
The silk, who charges as much as $10,000 a day for his services, admitted he fell asleep while a witness he did not want to question began talking.
He apologised to all parties at the beginning of proceedings today.
