Police have seized a two-month-old lion cub after stopping a Lamborghini whose driver was snapping selfies with the animal.
The 33-year-old man reportedly told officers that it was “just a cat”, but he failed to persuade them and was arrested.
The incident took place in the Champs-Élysées district of Paris, just a month after another lion cub was found in a Paris apartment.
The female cub, nicknamed “Putin” and around two-and-a-half months old, has now been taken in by an animal shelter.
The man has been charged with keeping an exotic animal and the Lamborghini has been returned to the rental company.
