Mandy Laurie to take the reins at WS Society next year

The next head of the WS Society has been announced as Mandy Laurie WS, partner at Burness Paull LLP.

Ms Laurie will take over as Deputy Keeper of the Signet on 1 January 2019 from Caroline Docherty OBE WS who stands down at the end of the year after 10 years in office.

Keeper of the Signet Lord Mackay of Clashfern said: “I’m particularly happy at the news that Mandy will become the second woman to hold the position fo DEputy Keeper.

“Caroline’s term in office has been transformational. I have no doubt that Mandy will be a worthy successor.”

Peter Lawson, chairman-elect at Burness Paull, said: “Mandy is an exceptional lawyer and role-model, and as a firm we are very proud to see her take up this prestigious position within the WS Society.
