The Opportunity:

We are looking to recruit a solicitor to join the legal team based at The Roslin Institute on the Easter Bush Campus.  The successful candidate will join a proactive, customer-focussed team, providing full and effective legal support to senior management and colleagues on Easter Bush Campus on a wide range of legal matters including dealing with commercial contracts, intellectual property, student matters, external funding matters, regulatory matters, and risk and compliance.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to move to an in-house role and offers excellent career development prospects. Hybrid working is on offer to suit the successful candidate.  

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Minimum of two-three years post qualified experience having qualified in Scots law or English law.
  • Recent relevant experience of delivering complex contracts for diverse organisations and managing governance and risk.
  • Ability to provide commercial advice and take a pragmatic approach to solving legal and other problems.
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-motivator who is able to work independently or as part of a team, using initiative, demonstrating flexibility and able to manage his or her own workload in a timely and efficient way.
