Commercial Dispute Resolution Solicitor (NQ - 2 years' PQE)

We are recruiting for a solicitor to join Harper Macleod’s highly-acclaimed Dispute Resolution team. We are one of the largest litigation teams in the country. We are routinely instructed in some of the highest-profile cases in the Scottish Courts. The team and many of our individual practitioners are consistently recognised by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500.

We deal with a broad range of commercial and other civil disputes for a mix of private and public sector clients, including high value and complex litigated cases in the Court of Session and Sheriff Court. We also regularly represent clients in appeals to the Supreme Court.

The role can be hybrid, with the office base in Inverness or Elgin .

The role will be varied and challenging, and will involve advising clients on contentious matters across the full range of specialisms practised by the team, including property litigation; contentious private client matters; contract disputes; debt recovery, professional negligence, contentious construction and engineering projects and IP disputes. The role will include providing advice to our public sector clients, as well as those in the private sector.

Ideally the successful applicant will NQ – 2 years’ PQE but we are open to considering all levels.

The successful applicant will be client-focussed, and organised, with inter-personal and technical skills and an attention to detail. They should be able to work confidently in a fast-moving environment and able to handle a challenging workload often with tight-timescales set by courts.
