The programme for Tumbling Lassie Seminar 3 is being finalised, with a line-up of expert speakers to give insight into disrupting people trafficking networks.

The seminar will be held in the Faculty of Advocates’ Mackenzie Building, with advocate Eric Robertson, in the chair.

Those contributing their expertise will be Alison Di Rollo QC, Solicitor General for Scotland, DS Stuart Houston, of Police Scotland’s national human trafficking unit, Pam Bowen, anti-trafficking lead at the Crown Prosecution Service, and Wendy Henderson, chair of the human trafficking and exploitation sub-group of the City of Edinburgh Council.

They will be joined by Andy Bevan, of International Justice Mission, and Bronagh Andrew, of Trafficking Awareness Raising Alliance, the two charities which, as in previous years, will benefit from the seminar on the morning of Saturday, 14 April, and the Tumbling Lassie Charity Ball that night at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh.

The seminar (2.5hrs’ CPD) is free, but donations will be taken for the charities.

Mr Robertson said: “We have a very interesting and wide-ranging group of people who can talk with great insight about disrupting trafficking networks at local level, nationally and internationally. It will be a unique occasion, gathering these people together.”

A highlight of the ball will be the world premiere of a Tumbling Lassie operetta, by the best-selling author, Alexander McCall Smith, and composer, Tom Cunningham.
