TLT Solicitors has announced a 10 per cent increase in fee income to hit £82m for the financial 2017/18 – the first full financial year since the launch of its new strategy to 2020.

Activity levels were up across the firm’s transactional, advisory and disputes services driven by new client wins and increased support for existing clients.

In the last year, the firm has acted on a number of high profile matters in Scotland including advising TRIG on its £20m investment in an energy storage unit in Scotland, acting for the Funder in the £30m redevelopment of Chesser House, Edinburgh, acting for Celtic plc in relation to the licensing aspects of their fan zone and acting for Blue Energy on the development of a large onshore wind project in Argyll and on the acquisition of a pre-development wind project in South Lanarkshire.

TLT’s head of Scotland John Paul Sheridan said: “We have had a strong year across the firm, which means growth of more than 60 per cent in just over five years. In Scotland, that five year period has seen the firm broaden its offering to clients to include banking & finance, disputes, real estate, employment, licensing and energy & renewables.

“We see potential for continued expansion in Scotland and, having taken over the leadership of our Scottish business this year, I’m looking forward to driving further growth in the year ahead.”

The firm expanded its licensing team at the start of this financial year with the arrival of partner Caroline Loudon. The firm was also shortlisted twice in the Scottish Legal Awards in the Lawyer of the Year Awards and for the Community Contribution Award.
