Thomson Reuters expands legal resources for Scotland

Thomson Reuters has expanded its legal know-how and legislative resources for the Scottish legal system. The new resources include the Scots Law resource centre on Practical Law and the addition of Scottish bills on Westlaw UK.

The Scots Law resource centre introduces a growing suite of up-to-date legal know-how resources, covering seven key practice areas. The resources include standard documents and clauses, practice notes, toolkits and articles for commercial, corporate, dispute resolution, employment, family, private client and property practice areas.

Following the recent content integration between Practical Law and Westlaw UK, subscribers to both services benefit from the seamless linking across the services enabling subscribers to navigate between the primary law within Westlaw UK to the trusted know-how within Practical Law. This closer integration enables subscribers to link to relevant Westlaw UK books, cases and legislation from the Scots Law resources in Practical Law.

“Legal professionals operating in the Scottish legal system often have a restricted choice of resources and find themselves faced with the need to adapt resources from elsewhere to suit their needs,” said Gilly Grant, director for Scotland and Ireland at the Legal business of Thomson Reuters.

“The expanded resources from Thomson Reuters are specifically tailored to the needs of professionals working in the Scottish Legal system, as such they help save valuable time in areas such as legal research and contract drafting.“

The expanded resources are produced and maintained by a team of legislative experts at Thomson Reuters and the Practical Law editorial team, who are Scots-qualified lawyers with significant professional experience in their practice areas, located in the Edinburgh office of Thomson Reuters.
