Runners from Stronachs LLP raised more than £1,500 for the Friends of Anchor at the 2017 Baker Hughes 10k, as it aims to secure £20,000 for the cause throughout the year.

A group of 10 Stronachs personnel, including partners, solicitors and support workers, completed the 10k route in Aberdeen on Sunday, May 14, after dedicating their lunch breaks to training for the event.

Teams from Stronachs have also signed up to take part in the Simplyhealth Great Aberdeen Run, Glack Attack, Ride the North, Run Balmoral and Anchor Wipeout challenges this year in honour of the charity.

Stronachs will also hold a second ladies’ afternoon tea party at Hazlehead Café on Friday, June 9, with all proceeds being donated to Friends of Anchor, which is the firm’s nominated charity for 2017.

Carol Crowther, partner at Stronachs and chair of the firm’s social and charities committee, said: “I’d like to thank each of our runners who did such a great job over the weekend and everyone who was kind enough to sponsor them and support our efforts in fundraising for Friends of Anchor.

“We’re now concentrating on our already sold-out ‘Tea in the Park’ event and are looking forward to welcoming guests to Hazlehead Café for a second annual afternoon full of fun and fundraising for this inspirational charity.

“Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the event so far, either by buying a ticket or donating a raffle prize. We’re still on the lookout for items of all sizes to be used as prizes on the day and we’d be very pleased to hear from any businesses looking to help out.”

“‘Tea in The Park’ 2016 raised more than £10,000 for charity.”

This year’s edition will include live entertainment from Robert Bruce, who was trained by the same vocal coach as Michael Ball and Elaine Page, and hair and beauty demonstrations from Ishoka.

There will also be an opportunity to win or bid for luxurious prizes including a one-off piece of jewellery designed especially for the occasion by Sinclairs in Inverurie, and a break for two nights in Edinburgh including accommodation and transport donated by Munro’s Travel.

Guests can also buy unique gifts and accessories from a selection of local retailers including Teasmith Gin, Happy Face Designs, Feather & Grey Candles and local artist Shelagh Swanson.
