Seven trainees at MacRoberts will remain with the firm and become newly qualified lawyers in September.

Christie Carswell, Calum Lavery, Douglas Leslie, Michael Gallagher, Sarah Milne, Nicola Kelly, Nikita Sandhu and Sarah Milne will be joining the firm’s construction, corporate finance, employment and projects teams working throughout Scotland, the UK and internationally.

The firm’s commitment to developing young people follows on from its participation in the Modern Apprenticeship Scheme and, most recently, a commitment to the UK government’s Kickstart Scheme, with positions available across its support divisions, such as marketing and IT.

Neil Kennedy, managing partner, said: “Never have young people needed our support more. Emerging from the pandemic into a changed world affords us opportunities and we are delighted to be able to provide these for our trainees and in our support divisions.

“It is a real pleasure for us to welcome such a talented group of people to continue to develop their careers with us.”

Ms Milne, trainee solicitor joining the corporate finance team, said: “Despite having spent the majority of my traineeship working from home, I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. This is a testament to MacRoberts and the fantastic people I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

“I am extremely grateful to everyone that has supported me and I am delighted to be joining the corporate team as a new qualified solicitor in September.”
