Gillespie Macandrew boosts energy team with new legal director

Gillespie Macandrew has bolstered its energy, natural resources and strategic land team with the recruitment of legal director Simon Williams.

Mr Williams is dual-qualified in both Scotland and England & Wales and specialises in renewable energy and strategic land development projects. He is also experienced in a wide variety of complex property work including minerals, investment, commercial development and security transactions.

He joins a ten-strong team in Gillespie Macandrew’s energy sector following a successful year of business growth for the team, including advising Rio Tinto in a £330 million deal for the sale of Alcan Aluminium UK Ltd. He will be a key contributor to the firm’s upcoming major projects.
