A leading QC has been elected chair of Faculty Services Limited, the company which provides administrative and other support services for advocates.

Geoff Clarke succeeds Peter Gray QC, who stepped down after almost four years in the post.

Mr Clarke was admitted as a member of the Faculty of Advocates in 1994, as an experienced solicitor, and took silk in 2008.

He has built up a wide and varied civil practice with specialisations in valuation for rating and personal injury law.

He became a member of the Faculty Council at the beginning of this year.

Mr Clarke said: “I am delighted to take on the role of chair of Faculty Services. As I see it, my role is to look after FSL employees and help them in any way I can and to look after the interests of members of Faculty.

“I have always been interested in management skills and look forward to working with FSL managers and with stable directors.”
