CMS’s Scottish-based Women in Business network group has teamed up Buchanan Galleries Shopping Centre to raise more than £2,000 to support people living with terminal illness. With all the donations now accounted for from last month’s Fashion & Fizz event, held at CMS’s Glasgow office, it has announced a total of £2,342.65 in funds raised for the charity Marie Curie.

The event coincided with Buchanan Galleries’ Frock Drop campaign which encourages people to donate ‘pre-loved clothing and accessories’ to be sold in Marie Curie shops. It featured cat walk demonstrations from retailers John Lewis and Oasis along with advice and goodie bags from Clarins. Cocktails and food were provided by Glasgow’s first dedicated Gin Bar, Gin71.

The evening also featured a display of outfits donated for fund-raising by VIPs including First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, singer/songwriter Amy McDonald and TV personality Megan McKenna.

Kirsten Partridge, partner at CMS and member of its Women in Business group, said: “We were delighted to work closely with Buchanan Galleries to stage this successful event. The event was well attended by both clients and staff and it raised a significant sum to support the fantastic work carried out by Marie Curie. These funds equate to 117 hours of nursing care or 13 full overnight shifts by a nurse caring for someone in their own home.

“We are grateful to Buchanan Galleries for its support and to all those who participated in the Fashion & Fizz evening. We look forward to being involved in future events.”
