Cancer Research Racquet and Marie Curie Champagne Garden Party raises thousands

A successful night was had by all on Friday 25 May as over 150 people gathered in the Eglinton & Glencairn Gardens in the west end of Edinburgh for the fourth annual Cancer Research Racquet & Marie Champagne Garden Party.

Attendees raised £4,000 on the night with the star prizes including tuition and four ball at Crail Golfing Society, donated by Graeme Lennie, a free suit donated by TM Lewin and Sir Andy Murray’s US Open match kit, signed by Sir Andy, donated by Aberdeen Standard Investments.

The champagne served on the evening was from the Gyéjacquot Vineyard, supplied by Raeburn Fine Wines of Stockbridge, and local business, Minus 33, served up a pop-up spirits cocktail bar.

Emma Johnston of Pinsent Masons and Emma Boffey of CMS, two of the Scottish local coordinators for Cancer Research Racquet, said: “This year’s Garden Party was another great success, with the champagne flowing and everyone joining together to raise funds for two great causes.

“We are grateful to the Garden Committee of the Eglinton & Glencairn Gardens for kindly donating their garden space for our use again this year. We would also like to thank all local businesses who donated prizes to the raffle and silent auction, along with all attendees who gave so generously on the night. We can’t wait to hopefully repeat the event again next year”.
