Balfour+Manson raises funds for SSPCA

Staff from the Aberdeen office of Balfour+Manson have been raising funds for its nominated charity of the year, the Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Around £1,700 was recently handed over to the charity which was raised from a number of activities. The most challenging of these saw members of Balfour+Manson’s personal injury team climb Ben Nevis last June, whilst several more participated in a gruelling Gungho 5k obstacle course in September.

A slightly more sedentary affair - a ‘Ladies fizz and shopping’ event helped to add to the fund-raising total.

Litigation partner Julie Clark Spence, who heads up Balfour+Manson’s Aberdeen office, said: “Every year, we ask the staff to vote for a preferred charity and they unanimously chose the Scottish SPCA for 2018.

“It’s a cause close to many of our hearts and we were delighted to work with the charity’s local team to help support the endeavours of the Scottish SPCA Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Drumoak near Banchory in Aberdeenshire.”

Graeme Innes, who manages the Scottish SPCA’s centre in Drumoak, said: “We could not rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals without people giving up their time to raise funds for us.

“We are incredibly grateful to all the staff at Balfour+Manson for their fundraising efforts throughout 2018 and would like to say a massive thank you to them on behalf of all our people and animals.”
